So let's be honest, washing your hair is not only bad for you but it also just sucks. Lately I've been using Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo (non-aerosol) and I absolutely love it. I've tried a few aerosol versions and yeah, they work but they last for like 5 uses. Really? Not for $20, thanks. This version by Klorane is simply fabulous and, if you're eco-conscious, it's paraben and sulfate free!
Something else that I've noticed,an added bonus, is that not only does this product absorb excess oil but it also adds a little volume to my roots, which I can always use.
So while watching the Grammy's at my friend Robin's apartment, my friends and I were all "wait...does Beyonce have glitter in her hair?" Yes, yes she did. When I got a pitch email today for the actual product that she wore, I simply HAD to share. Though I have to admit that Beyonce annoys the crap out of me, she is definitely talented and a hard worker...and, apparently, likes her bling.
So I'm not very happy admitting this but I have some gray hair. I've been randomly finding them since I was in middle school but now they've deciced to clump together a bit on one side of my hairline. It's fun. Even though everyone tells me that it's not noticable (thanks to my light blonde hair color), I ALWAYS notice it and it drives me nutso AND the grays tend to grow in a bit thicker so they stick out even more! UGH. Anyway, I was lucky enough to try out the TouchBack marker specifically designed for gray hairs. I tried out the lightest blonde shade that they offer, Golden Blonde, and even though it was a bit darker than expected, it definitely did the job. Every morning for a week I washed and blow dryed my hair as usual and then applied the TouchBack using the little comb that combs with it - which prevents the dye from getting on your scalp and helps separate the hair so that you can see all the grays that you want to cover. I LOVE this and it's really a great option for when you're trying to stretch out the time in between root touch-ups.
So since I started living by myself, I've suddenly become very aware of how much space I have...and I LOVE every inch of it. When I found out about this fabulous blow dryer from Conair, I knew it would make the perfect gift for your neat-freak friend. The cord in this super cute blow dryer retracts into the handle with just the touch of a button for convenient and tidy storage. And, of course, it still has allthe great benefits of a great blow dryer- 1875 watts of power and a high torque DC motor (god, I sound like I'm talking about a car) for maximum drying power and speedier styling. And yes, of course it also has Ionic technology to help smooth the cuticle layer of your hair. Get the Infiniti Cord-Keeper Styler for anyone on your holiday list who loves her hair and tidyness.

So I have to be honest...this is probably the best conditioner I've ever used. EVER. Phyto's Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask is packed with Jojoba Oil and Angelica extract to regenerate hair follicles and add suppleness. With its creamy texture and delicate scent, the mask provides deep conditioning by restructuring the hair's protective film, which helps hair retain moisture.
So it's pretty obvious that I love No Frizz by Living Proof products, right? Well, the genius' over at their labs managed to one-up themselves with a line extension- shampoo, conditioner and a leave-in treatment! Yes, that's right...even more protection against frizz and humidity. These new products enhance the benefits of No Frizz styling products, leaving hair smooth, and, of course, frizz-free.
So check out my review of Phyto Universe on my Examiner.com page. Seriously, if you want to pretend you're NOT in the city, it's the place to go. I mean, check out the garden wall with REAL plants. Amazing.
My scalp magnified by like a TON. Apparently healthy too! I love that you can see both the brown and blonde hair. Hahaa.
My hair magnified...pretty blonde and brown colors!
So after years of blow drying and straightening my hair almost every day, I've come to really appreciate the value of a good thermal protection product. Here are my current favorites and remember, I judge harshly.
- Redken iron silk 07 - iron silk truly lives up to its name. It doesn't leave hair sticky or stiff and strengthens and protects the hair follicle resulting in zero frizz. - Sebastian Professional Trilliant - This shimmery spray is designed to gently condition hair and adds ultra-light body fora glam finish. - Dove Heat Defense Therapy - besides being super cheap ($4.75 on drugstore.com!), this product smells amazing and leaves hair feeling conditioned and shiny.
So with all this rain, I've been trying to style my hair differently than my usual straight hair with straight bangs. Since my hair is naturally wavy, I decided to try out Sunsilk Captivating Curls Gel & Cream Twist. I love the idea of combining gel and cream together because I think a lot of people often don't know which is best for their specific hair. The verdict? A fab (and super affordable) product that gives you soft, well-defined curls. Perfect for rainy weather! The gel provides a strong hold and the cream gives you the soft feel so your hair doesn't look crunchy. Approved.
