So my love for Degree deodorant is really just endless and everlasting. Not only are their products really and truly amazing but they're also one of the few beauty companies that actually has a little fun and sponors some cool stuff. Enter my invite to Lilith Fair. I was super excited when Degree invited me to the concert on their behalf and granted me access to their VIP tent. Of course the amazing Nadine Jolie was also invited, which made the day even more fun for me. A girl's gotta have her partner in crime, right? Degree sent a car to take me to the show (hey, it was in the OC people) and as soon as I arrived I saw a bunch of women in long, flowered skirts putting flowers in each other's hair and was kinda scared. Yeah, I said it. As much as I admire Sarah McLachlan, indie girl rock isn't really my thang...however, I was pleasantly surprised at the intelligent, amazing women that the show featured.
We were allowed access to the press conference before the show started and we got to listen to Sarah and the other ladies talk about empowering women and why they love playing Lilith. Good stuff. As for the actual music, it was great, but the best part of the day was definitely hanging out in the Degree VIP tent, eating all the sushi and other snacks, drinking wine and generally just hanging out with my fellow bloggers (Amber from BeautyJunkiesUnite, the Bender sisters of BeautyStyleWatch, Cindy from HelloDollface and, of course, Nadine) and the rock star publicists who work on Degree.

So like I posted earlier, I had an AMAZING time in New York thanks to Degree! Mary J. sang one of my all-time favorites, "Real Love." A total classic.

So you probably read my last two posts about Degree's new Natureffects line of Deodorants and Body Mists, right? Well it turns out that I was selected as the WINNER for their beauty blogger contest supporting the launch and I won a free trip for me a friend to New York City to attend a Mary J. Blige concert in Times Square!!! Seriously, I'm still in shock. I haven't been home since Christmas and I was definitely itching to get back and enjoy all that Manhattan has to offer. I'm so greatful to Degree for this amazing opportunity- make sure you're following me on Twitter because I'll be in New York Saturday, March 20th until Monday, March 22nd and I'll be tweeting and blogging about my experiences during the trip.

So I got my second amazing delivery from Degree today - a beautiful bouquet that added a nice "touch" to my desk and definitely helped to release my "Outdoorphins" and stimulate my sense of sight. After receiving these flowers, I have to admit that I actually really like having flowers around me and, funny enough, 88% of all women surveyed by Degree agree that bringing nature into their homes lowers stress and makes them happier. Hmmm...what have I been missing? More than half of the women surveyed also keep plants at home to stay connected to nature. I'm on my way to the garden store right now, people.

So as much as I love Los Angeles, one thing that it definitely lacks is that super exciting season change that I used to experience in New York - winter turning to spring. It's the most exciting thing EVER. It starts with the bitter cold snow and then one day, mysteriously, it's 70 degrees and sunny. I love it. Anyhow, I've parterned with my favorite deodorant, Degree, as they've agreed to stimulate my senses and help me feel the seasons change, even though I'm in LA.
I had NO IDEA that a whopping 40% of women have called in sick from work just to spend time outside...ha, I thought it was only me who did things like that! My first sense stimulated? TASTE. I was sent a yummy orange olive cake - the ingredients in the cake are inspired by two of the new fragrances from the Degree Women Natureffects Collection - olive leaf & pink pepper and orange flower & cranberry. YUM. I can't wait for the next delivery. Stay tuned.
